Mushtaqs Restaurant in Hamilton near Glasgow has passed the food safety hygiene test with flying colours to scoop the Food Standards Agency’s ‘Eat Safe’ food hygiene award making it one of the cleanest indian restaurants in Scotland.
Mushtaqs Restaurant was recommended to the Food Standards Agency for the ‘Eat Safe’ award by South Lanarkshire Council’s Environmental Health team as it has hygiene standards beyond those required by law.
Director of Mushtaqs, Ajmal Mushtaq said: “Food hygiene has always been our number one priority and to be recognised for excellent standards is testament to the whole team who have exceptional standards in everything they do. I am delighted and very proud of them”.
Mushtaqs is the only Indian Restaurant in South Lanarkshire to win this award and there is confidence that this Food Safety Management System can compete with the best in the country. Ajmal said: “I doubt that there is a cleaner kitchen that serves as many meals as we do in the whole of Scotland”
South Lanarkshire Councillor Gerry Convery said: “We were delighted to nominate Mushtaqs Restaurant as it operates to a high standard of hygiene. This is the standard that we would ideally like all kitchens to achieve”.
