Mushtaqs Indian Restaurant, in Almada Street, Hamilton have announced support to Backing Young Britain, a cross-government campaign launched that brings together business, public sector organisations and the voluntary sector to provide more opportunities for young people.
Mushtaqs will be creating five additional vacancies during the coming month to candidates between the ages of 16–24.
Rena Kinloch, district manager for Jobcentre Plus in Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire, said “It’s great to see local employers such as Mushtaqs Restaurant embracing the Backing Young Britain campaign for the benefit of the community. We're asking employers to show their support for this campaign by providing more opportunities for young people. It’s vital that we support young people through the recession by providing them with work experience and jobs so they can develop the skills and confidence that will stand them in good stead for their future careers.”
Director of Mushtaqs, Ajmal Mushtaq said: “We need to increase our staff number from 22 to 27 to meet the growing demand and we’re delighted to be providing these opportunities to young people. We have an ongoing relationship with Job Centre Plus and this has really helped as they provide a tailored service to help fill vacancies quickly – I am grateful for this valued assisstance.”
